Strategies for Crisis Workers

September 30, 2008 until October 1, 2008
Seven Springs, PA

The Crisis Intervention Association of Pennsylvania's 2008 Annual Conference will be held at the Seven Springs Mountain Resort on September 30th and October 1, 2008.  This year's conference was developed in response to a recent survey of members about topics of interest.  Thus, this year's conference will focus on innovative strategies for crisis intervention in addition to wellness and the  importance of taking care of ourselves.

Yvonne Eaton-Stull, Director of the Counseling Center at Allegheny College, will be the Keynote Speaker on the first day presenting on strategies for assisting young adults in crisis.  The crisis worker is the focus of the keynote address on the second day as Bruce Rabin, M.D, Ph.D.; Director of the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center Healthy Lifestyle Program, offers strategies for dealing with the stress of providing crisis services.  Workshops are scheduled on safety, working with the forensic system, building resiliency, Trauma Triage and a host of others.

The Reception will again feature the DJ Kingfish, back by popular demand; thanks to the support of the Clarion Psychiatric Center , The Meadows Psychiatric Center , and Roxbury Treatment Center  .

Members in good standing receive a discount to attend the Conference. For more information on becoming a member click here .
