June 26 Webinar on Overall Effects of Implementation of the Affordable Act
Webinar on Overall Effects of Implementation of the Affordable Act
Thursday, June 26, 3:00pm Eastern Time
Description: As the first wave of Affordable Care Act implementation has concluded, up to eight million people have found health insurance through the exchanges, and millions more are signing up for Medicaid directly. Uninsurance rates have dropped, and health care spending – after three years of relative stability – has once again begun its climb. And what’s happening in 2014 is just the first step. There will be two more years of significant growth in the number of people insured, and added pressure on the non-Medicaid-expanding states to find some way to share in the federal funds for expansion.
Objective: The objective of this session is to update the listener on the overall effects of implementation, to identify the broad implications of the decisions states are making with respect to ACA implementation, and to suggest some of the directions the policy discussions may be headed as we move forward.
Presenter: Paul Gionfriddo, President and CEO, Mental Health America
