Dr. David Shern, president and CEO of Mental Health America, recently spoke about mental health policy at a seminar sponsored by the Mental Health Association of Palm Beach County.
Arguing that "the next century of mental health in the U.S. needs to be fundamentally different" from the last one, he makes the case for a new "vision for mental health now within our grasp."
The blog Our Health Policy Matters wrote about the talk and is linked here.

Apr 23, 2011 at 9:56 AM I would love to discuss issues in regard to the Mental health Policies, some drastically need to change. Worked in the field for 23 years, walked out to try and get my consumers help. My career is now gone after 23 years of excellent service and I miss them. I would love to make a change to better their quality of care, its my life goal. Had to let the anger go first.Still unemployed do not have funds to attend the conference or I would.
